Pioneering Home Care in Nothern India with 6 patients in 1997, CanSupport is now the largest stand-alone Home Based Palliative Care organization in the country, providing care to about 1100 concurrent patients in Delhi and the National Capital Region through 15 multidisciplinary teams of highly trained & committed professionals. More than 50,000 patients and their families have so far benefitted from its services. And as of may 2013, they have started an outpatient clinic in East Delhi for Palliative Care and symptom management.
CanKids…KidsCan, a non-profit family support group for children with cancer and their families, is a National Society, dedicated to Change for Childhood Cancer in India. It was set up in January 2004 in Delhi under the umbrella of Indian Cancer Society and, in June 2012, registered as a separate National Society. It works in a growing number of cancer centers (currently 34) across the country which treat over 10,000 new cases of childhood cancer each year. A grass-roots organization of over 225 people (volunteers, survivors, parents of children with cancer and employees), CanKids is a member of ICCCPO (the International Confederation of Childhood Cancer Parents Organizations), which is affiliated to SIOP (the International Society of Pediatric Oncology).
