"True heroism is remarkably sober, very undramatic. It is not the urge to surpass all others at whatever cost but the urge to serve others at whatever cost."
A safe haven on the foothills of the Himalayas in Kalimpong, where hundred children and elderly once abandoned, in poor health and despair, now live in harmony, help one another and have full, happy lives with dignity and respect.
The home houses between 45 and 50 elders aged 50 to 95 and 50 children aged 3 to 18 years. At the home they receive health care, nutritious meals, clothing and social support.
They are well respected and cared for. This is a place where minds are turned to compassion and cultivation of inner peace and kindness is a way of life.
