“Keep me away from the wisdom which does not cry,
the philosophy which does not laugh and the greatness which does not bow before children”
~ Khalil Gibran
Children at the Home receive a free education from Kindergarten through Grade 9 at The Jamgon Kongtrul School.
This is the first school in the region to accept boys and girls from very poor families and lower castes.
The school seeks to give children a chance to realize their potential and break out of the mould imposed upon them by the caste system.
After completing Grade 9, the children are sent to high schools and some go on to university. Upon graduation, some of them return to be employed by the Home.
