We continue to disseminate the knowledge of Palliative Care to nurses by educating them in multiple aspects to practice quality palliative care in their settings , also to advocate, to educate fellow nurses and (the stake holders?)public to increase the palliative care awareness in communities.
We reach out far and beyond to nurses to inspire them to change their attitudes, to open their hearts wider, to expand their knowledge and self confidence , to empower themselves to get the respect and support they deserve, to find their rightful place in their work places and in the society.
We have been collaborating with ELNEC USA , teaching the Core Curriculum and Train the Trainer Curriculum adopted for India. We are also working with foundations and individuals in India who have been supporting us to be able to offer these much needed, much appreciated training free of cost.
Today with the help of an Indian Foundation we have a solid base in Maharashtra, in Delhi and in West Bengal. We are honoured to work with two of the biggest hospitals in India and with nursing schools to train their nurses and their communities.
There are 43 trained ELNEC trainers, and over 600 nurses who have attended ELNEC Core Curriculum workshops from Rajasthan , Jammu, Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Delhi, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, West Bengal, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Maharashtra.
